2016 PACT Hill Day: Patients Push Back Against CMS Part B Payment Model

On June 8, the AmerisourceBergen-led Patient Access to Community Treatment Coalition (PACT) convened its second Capitol Hill Day, urging elected officials to help stop the proposed Medicare Part B Payment Model.

Eight Patients representing the states of New York, Virginia, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio and Oregon joined PACT member organization government affairs staff, including IPN, for over 40 congressional meetings. The patients, some of whom are still undergoing treatment, shared their personal experiences dealing with serious illnesses such as prostate, colon and breast cancer, rheumatoid arthritis and macular degeneration - all emphasizing that access to community-based care has played a critical role in their treatment, an option others may not have if the proposed experiment is passed.
